September 16, 2022.- Watch again the brilliant presentation of Mateo Valero, director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, at the breakfast LAS MAÑANAS DEL MAÑANA organized this morning by DigitalES. A virtual meeting in which he invited people to “dream” of Spain’s great capacity to continue to be at the forefront of research, thanks to supercomputing. In the near future, he predicts that there will be “Nobel prizes in medicine that will be won by computer scientists,” thanks to advances in these technologies.

During this event, Valero also spoke of the importance of Europe gaining technological autonomy, understood as “better access” to the technologies needed by the productive sectors and thus avoiding bottlenecks such as those still affecting the automotive industry. He also emphasized the opportunities of language technologies applied to the Spanish language, a challenge in which he has involved the entire Spanish-speaking world. “We have to define the future of Spanish, it cannot be left in the hands of third parties,” he said.
